About Seven Doors House
The Seven Doors House is a 5 bedroom 10,500 sq ft heritage home and is situated in Moica Vaddo a term shortened from ‘Monica Vaddo’. The house is built sustainably using natural materials and is in complete harmony with the local environment and cultural milieu.
History – The original owners of the property were a couple called Jeronimo Sebastiao De Souza and Maria Carlota Fernandes, parents to Moreno de Souza (3 November 1923 – 14 October 2007) who was a Goan Jesuit priest and Konkani Marian poet, Konkani writer, translator and a historian. They sold the property to Joao Vicente Lobo in 1912 who built this heritage home in 1932. The trees on the property are over a 100 years old.
Seven Doors House’ is what the neighbourhood has called this house since 1932, when it was originally built and we stayed with the name.
